  • Senior Exploration Begins - Monday, April 12th

  • Prom - Wednesday, June 2nd  @ Danversport Yacht Club

  • Graduation - Friday, June 4th, 6PM @ Knowlton Stadium


FALL POST-SECONDARY PLANNING WORKSHOPS

Guidance counselors will be meeting with Seniors in late September to review the application process and begin their Common Applications. The workshop is a follow-up to the Post-Secondary Planning Workshop offered in January.

The Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority offers virtual presentations and supports to provide a comprehensive overview of the financial aid application process.vPresenters include MEFA staff members as well as guests from financial aid offices across the Commonwealth.

Fall College Representative Visits to WHS

We believe it is an essential part of the college search process for seniors to meet with college representatives for schools they may be applying to whenever possible. In an effort to promote this contact many colleges have been invited to come to the Guidance Office to meet with students. School visits are in the fall before school at 7:45-8:15 AM and during select W.I.N. blocks. Check Naviance and daily announcements for days and times for visits.

Service Academy Nominations

Seniors who plan to apply to a service academy (West Point, Annapolis, etc.) are required to seek the nomination of our local representative by contacting their offices directly. Follow the links below to complete the required personal data form and required materials to seek a nomination. Requests are due before October 31st of each year.

ACT & SAT FEE WAIVER SERVICE

ACT & the CollegeBoard offer a fee waiver service to assist students for whom the payment of fees presents a serious barrier to testing and applying for college admission. To be eligible, a student must apply through their guidance counselor and meet financial eligibility guidelines such as participation in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program or household income eligibility guidelines which your guidance counselor will share with you. Only students in grades 11 and 12 are eligible. The fee waivers do not cover late fees. Families who would like to learn more about fee waivers are encouraged to contact their child’s counselor.
